Well, that took a while. We've been busy! In no particular order, here are some items of interest:
We're starting our Oregon Trail unit, and have a field trip planned for April 6 to Philip Foster Farm. Please look for more information coming home in March about that.
We're reading about invasive species and conducting science experiments about mold in our classroom. Ask your fourth grader about their scientific question and hypothesis. We'll be starting them on Tuesday when we return.
We've started studying Greek and Latin roots as part of our study of improving vocabulary skills. If you can spot a root or suffix or prefix, you can make a smart guess about what the word might mean.
In math, we're on our second chapter of fractions. We're trucking along, doing our best and reviewing a LOT.
Firwood Family Reading Night is this coming Thursday, February 22nd. Wear red, white, and blue to celebrate Presidents' Day!
Click here for pictures of our design challenge Valentine's boxes. They turned out really well and we had a lot of fun sharing them, talking about them, and drawing diagrams of them.
